Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. (Margaret Mead) |
The Vancouver Diaper Circle is part of an advocacy-based grassroots movement to promote a cultural shift in diapering, to see more babies in real diapers--i.e. simple, reusable, non-toxic cloth diapers. We rely on the assistance of dedicated and self-directed volunteers who want to make a positive social and environmental impact and help others enjoy the many benefits of cloth diapering. If you are passionate about cloth diapering your family and passionate about sharing the benefits of cloth diapering with others, please consider donating your time and knowledge to assist our advocacy efforts -- because the only way to change diapers, is one baby at a time.

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with the following positions:
- Cloth diapering outreach: As an outreach volunteer, you will work with local community organizations on an ongoing basis to provide cloth diapering education and raise cloth diapering awareness. You will run cloth diapering workshops for prenatal, postnatal, parent/baby and parenting outreach programs for the community organizations, demonstrating the use of cloth diapers and empowering parents and caregivers to make diapering choices that are green, baby friendly and affordable. For this position, we suggest that you have at least 9 months of cloth diapering experience and be generally comfortable talking about cloth diapering to other parents and caregivers; however it is not necessary to be an expert in all types of cloth diapering systems. We can provide training and resources to increase your cloth diapering knowledge so that you can join us in helping to make cloth diapering more accessible to all families, at all budgets.
- Outreach and events coordinator/promoter: This role involves communicating with community organizations and venues to schedule cloth diapering workshops and events, promoting events, and coordinating registrations for events.
- Social media coordinator: This role involves being a cloth diapering advocate by spreading the word about cloth diapering and our organization and its events through social media channels. You will help generate new content by writing cloth diapering articles for our website blog, recapping our events and spearheading fun cloth diapering awareness campaigns.
- Support for local cloth diaper bank: While we do not operate a cloth diaper bank ourselves, we refer families to organizations that provide cloth diaper loans, and we support these organizations by raising the public's awareness about cloth diaper banks, and educating and supporting families with the use of cloth diapers. If this is of interest, please contact us for more information about this role.
